Lost Planet 2 (PlayStation 3) - Guide

Prologue

When the mission begins follow the VS through the snow. After a short distance you'll encounter some Akrid. Shoot the Sepia first and then bring down their Genessa spawning points. At this point the VS should break down. A short cutscene will trigger. After it wraps up, capture the nearby data post and scale the nearby cliff wall with your grappling hook. Proceed toward the enemy camp.
When you reach the top of the cliff wall, you'll come across a crate containing a rocket launcher. Shoot it with some thermal energy to open it up. Take the rocket launcher and continue. You'll come across swarm of Trilid and a Chryatis. Kill the Trilid first and then focus your fire on the Chryatis. After this an evac chopper should arrive. Board it to end the mission.

EPISODE 1

CHAPTER 1
Mission One

The mission begins in the jungle with lots of Trilid attacking you. Shoot them down and advance. You need to activate all the local data posts. Proceed down the jungle corridor. You'll encounter some Sepia along the way. Kill anything that gets in your way. You'll be informed of some reinforcements dropping in and are ordered to meet up with them. When you near the new team, another Chryatis will show up. Bring it down and continue toward the next data post. You should encounter some more Sepia. Kill them all and advance. When you reach the end of the area the mission will complete.

Mission Two

When the next mission begins your objective will be to head toward the mine. Advance, you should come to a river with a bunch of Trilid swarming at a distance. Gun the down before they notice you. Cross the river and continue through the level. You'll encounter a large swarm of Sepia and Bolsepia. You obviously should kill them all. Clear out the initial cluster of Akrid and then target the Genessa that are spawning them. If you'd like a bit of extra firepower, there's a VS in the area. Also, don't overlook the nearby data post. It can be easy to pass over in the jungle shrubbery.
The path will branch to the left and right. Proceed either way and you should meet hostile human soldiers. A good strategy here is to let your allies take one path and then go down the other to flank the enemy soldiers. Kill this first group of soldiers and continue through the jungle. It's easy to go around in circles here so if you find yourself in terrain you've already covered, take a glance at your PDA and check the map. You'll encounter some more soldiers guarding a closed gate. Kill them and then hack the gate control to open it. Doing so will end the mission and trigger a cutscene.

Mission Three

The next mission starts near the aforementioned mining facility. You need to activate five generators in order to make some mining equipment malfunction. Upon entering the mine you'll encounter heavy resistance. Take some time to clear out the enemy forces and learn the locations of the generators. Once the coast is clear, go around the mine and activate all five of them. Generator 1 is located to the northeast of the map. Generator 2 is located in a hallway to the east. Generator 3 is located on a catwalk toward the southeast. Generator 4 is located at the center of the map. Generator 5 is located near 3 on the ground level. The mine is multileveled, so don't get discouraged if you can't find everything initially. Just keep looking around. Activating all five generators will trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene ends a countdown will begin. At zero the mine will be destroyed. Unfortunately, the enemy have their own ideas about your plan. A large group of soldiers will attack you. You need to hold them off for ninety seconds. There are four control units scattered about the facility. The soldiers will try to deactivate these and disrupt the countdown. You obviously need to keep them running. Kill the soldiers as they come and reactivate any control units they shut down. When the countdown ends you need to get out of the mine before it explodes. This will end the mission and chapter.
CHAPTER 2

Mission One

When the next chapter begins you'll be instructed to head toward the reservoir area. Just run straight ahead. There are a lot of minor Akrid in the area. Most pose little threat, but there you will encounter a Chryatis that can cause you more trouble. While you're killing the Akrid, make a point of activating any data posts you come across. There are four in the area. The first three are scattered throughout the area, and the last is located toward the northwest where the mission ends. When you've activated all of them head toward the exit.

Mission Two

Boss Battle: Queen
When this mission begins you'll spawn in an industrial area. You'll receive orders to meet up with some reinforcements. Head to the nearby data post. When you near it you'll come under attack by a Category G Akrid that goes by the name of Queen. Your objective is now to kill it. There are a few things to watch for. Besides her massive size, she has a nasty freezing beam that affects a wide area. If you get caught in its blast radius, it will leave you frozen and vulnerable. To kill her, aim for the head. This can be more difficult than it sounds. Queen likes to move around a lot, making it hard to keep her noggin in your sights. You may note some small, orange appendages lining her sides. Shoot them off and her head will fall forward bringing it closer into range. Shoot them back off when they grow back. Its arms can also be shot off, but they regenerate almost instantaneously, so don't bother. Just continue this process until Queen goes down.
When the Queen is dead continue along up the stairs to right hand side of the platform you were just fighting on. You should come across a data post and VS. Activate the data post and mount the VS. After you do this, advance forward. You'll encounter a large group of Akrid; Sepia mostly. Fight your way through them, and then after wiping them out, head to the closed gate in the northwest. When you pass through the mission and chapter will end.
CHAPTER 3

Mission One
Head straight into the jungle. Your initial objective is to activate the local data posts. When you go a certain distance you'll encounter some enemy soldiers holding position on a bridge. They're guarding a data post. Kill them and activate it. Continue forward and you'll encounter more soldiers and a turret. There's a lot of potential cover here so it shouldn't be too hard to make your way through. Destroy the turret and mop up any remaining soldiers while proceeding to the top floor of the structure. Once you get to the top you'll run into an enemy VS and a second turret. Together these two can be dangerous. Keep close to cover and take your time taking them down. After you destroy the turret and VS hack the gate control to end the mission.

Mission Two
You'll receive orders to activate all the area's data posts. There are three in total, and they are grouped relatively close together. When you move forward you'll almost immediately come under fire from an enemy turret. Find some cover and destroy it. Push forward and you'll meet heavy resistance in the form of enemy soldiers, automated turrets and hostile VS's. This part can be a bit difficult. The enemy's numbers aren't overwhelming, but they often have good cover and hold the high ground. Take your time in clearing them out. When you activate all the data posts a cutscene will trigger.
Enemy reinforcements have arrived and it's your job to kill them all. Its maneuverability and firepower are far great than anything you can muster on foot, so it's suggested you mount it. The enemy force is comprised mainly of foot soldiers and VS's. You start on the high ground, so try to take out as many as you can from up high before jumping down to meet them on the ground. If you lose your VS and you feel the need for extra firepower there are some containers holding a rocket launcher and Gatling gun on the bridge. If you're playing with friends don't miss the multi-seat VS at the bottom of the hill to the south.

Mission Three
Boss Battle: Cordlant
Advance forward; you should almost immediately find a couple of wrecked VS's. The first holds a Gatling gun while the second has a VS rocket launcher. Take whichever you prefer. Move forward and you'll come to a cliff. Jump down and you'll meet up with a group of allied soldiers. Move toward them Cordlant will emerge. Cordlant has more bark then bite. Most of its attacks are only effective at close range. That said, if you get hit prepare to take some damage. There are a lot of ways to hurt him. Its main weak spot are the orange protrusions sticking out of its back. Shoot the smaller ones first and then aim for the bigger, central one. If you can jump onto the Akrid's back it makes shooting them easier.
With all of this done, it's time to really deal some damage. The best way to do this is to blow of Cordlant's legs. Aim for its knee caps. As they take more damage they'll glow bright orange until they're blow away. Cordlant should collapse and you can then run inside its mouth. Doing so will let you attack its innards and shoot its heart. After you do a lot of damage it will spit you out. If you want some extra firepower there is a live VS mixed amongst the wrecked ones scattered around the area. When you kill the Akrid the mission, chapter and episode will end.

EPISODE 2

CHAPTER 1
Mission One

When the mission starts you'll be tasked with infiltrating the enemy city. There's a crate with a sniper rifle to the northeast of your starting position. Grab it if you fancy some headshots. You'll come to a searchlight. You'll meet a number of these that need to be avoided. You can't shoot them out, so don't bother trying. Using your grappling hook, climb the wall to the roof of the building in front of you.
Continue forward. There's a sniper on a building to your left. Kill him and advance. You'll come to a second searchlight. Avoid it and proceed. When you near the edge of the roof you'll come under fire by a pair of enemy soldiers below you. After you kill them jump down to their area. Head up the ramp nearby.
When you reach the top of the ramp you'll meet a large group of soldiers. Kill them and head into the corridor immediately in front of you. As you advance through the corridor you'll meet more soldiers. Take them down and proceed. You'll come to a section ringed in red. Pass through it to complete the mission and advance to the next area.

Mission Two
When the next mission begins, just press forward. Your objective is to destroy some obstructions ahead of you. You'll also be asked to capture all the local data posts. Advance into the city. You'll be attacked by some enemy soldiers taking cover in some bunkers. Use a grenade or a heavy weapon to destroy the walls and expose the soldiers to your fire. After you've killed the soldiers head up the stairs to your left. You'll encounter an enemy security sensor. Destroy it before proceeding to keep from setting off the alarm.
Continue through the city. You'll come to a data post. Kill the soldiers guarding it and capture it. You'll come to a flight of stairs. At the top there's another security drone. Destroy it and climb the stairs. There will be some more soldiers. After you've killed them you'll come upon another data post. Be careful! There's another security drone hidden in the shed to its left. Take it out before you move to activate the post or you'll trip the alarm and call in reinforcements.
Continue through the alleyways. You'll come to another data post being guarded by some soldiers. After they're all dead take the data post. This is the last one. After that's done with, head down the alley toward your objective, at the end of the alley is a red ringed corridor. Enter it to advance to the next area.

Mission Three
You're still after those obstructions! Your HQ will warn you about the slumdwellers being in a destructive mood. As you start into the alley they'll demonstrate it by blowing some stuff up and setting the surrounding buildings ablaze. You'll see a data post dead ahead. Head toward it, killing the enemy soldiers guarding it. They'll have a strong VS in their ranks, so make sure to give it some special attention. To the immediate right of the data post is a container holding a Gatling gun. Take it with you if you want some extra firepower.
You'll climb some stairs into an area that can best be described as an inferno. Careful! There's some flamethrower equipped soldiers in your path. Keep some distance between them and yourself and pick them off. Continue down the corridor and you should come across a data post. Capture it and press on. You'll come to a point held by some enemy soldiers. One of them has a flamethrower, but your attention should be on the sniper holed up at the rear center of the area. There are also some VS's. After you kill them all, jump down to the area below. Located in a room toward the back is a container containing some battle armor. Equip it to boost your defenses. Continue down the alley and you'll reach the end of the area. The mission will end here.

Mission Four
The next mission begins in a train station. You need to capture a command post so you can take control of a train heading into the city. When you reach the train tracks you'll be attacked by some enemy soldiers. Kill the soldiers and then climb the stairs to the catwalk above. Follow it to the east where you'll find the command post. A bit further, on the ground level there is also a data post. You may want to capture it before taking the command post.
After you capture the command post, you'll need to hold it. A two minute countdown will begin. You'll be attacked by some soldiers and drones. Hold the command post until the timer runs down and the mission and chapter will end.

CHAPTER 2

Mission One
You're riding the train you hijacked at the end of chapter one when you sight a powerful weapon that HQ wants captured. When the mission begins you'll be told to advance through the city toward your target. Head up the stairs and ride the cargo belt. Keep alert, there will be enemy soldiers waiting to shoot you from the side.
After awhile, the cargo belt will drop you a lower level. Just before that on your right, the mission will branch off into another area with a data post. Head that way. It's guarded by a couple of soldiers. Kill them and then capture the post to update your map. Continue along and you'll come to a wide hallway with another cargo belt running down then middle of it. This area is heavily guarded by soldiers and turrets, so take your time in clearing them out. There's a rocket launcher nearby, so don't hesitate to use it if you feel you could use an extra punch. There's also a T-ENG charger toward the right of the screen. Go and stand near it if you could use a little boost to your thermal energy.
Continue riding the cargo belt for a bit. When you reach the end it drops you into a massive grinder (aptly named the Pulverizer), so be make sure you're off the belt before then. Grapple up the wall to the right of the Pulverizer. Opposite your position there's another cargo belt. A cluster of enemy soldiers will be positioned there attacking you. A fun way to kill them is to let them get close to the edge of the belt and then, before they can run away, shoot them and watch fall into the Pulverizer. Follow the pathway to the next belt. There's a container along the way. Open it to find some battle armor. Then jump onto the cargo belt that the soldiers were attacking you from.
Work your way up the cargo belt. There will be another data post to your right. Take a moment to stop and activate it. After that's done you'll come to a spot with a trash crusher. With the cargo belt working against you it can be a bit tricky to get past it fast enough while it's up. Let it come down once and then when it starts to recede up again dash through. Unfortunately, there's a powerful group of soldiers waiting for you on the other side. Kill them and continue to the corridor on your right. You'll come to a ladder, climb it to complete the area and mission.

Mission Two
You'll begin the mission in a control room. Your objective here is again, to make your way to the enemy weapon. There are two hallways. One leading to a set of battle armor and a dead end, and another leading into the mission. Grab the battle armor first and then head down the other hallway. This mission is mainly a close range battle through tight hallways, so find and bring a shotgun. If you encounter any red doors, shoot them with a shotgun to open them, but be prepared because they generally lead to a flood of armored soldiers. Just follow the hallways and you should come to a data post. You'll be close to the exit, but not quite off scot free. Up ahead is a tightly packed group of soldiers just waiting for you to poke your head out. Lob a few grenades in and keep your shotgun loaded to give them a proper greeting. You should come to the exit and the mission will end.

Mission Three
As the mission starts you'll be tasked with capturing all the local data posts. There are three total. Jump down from the ledge that the mission begins on and head into the mission. You should quickly fall under fire by an enemy VS. Destroy it. On the right hand side of the street there should be a container holding a shield. Feel free to try it out if you want. With the VS destroyed pick off enemy remaining soldiers in the area and proceed forward.
At the end of the street you'll find the first data post. Activate it and head left toward the next street. You'll encounter another strong enemy force made up of infantry and a VS. Take down the VS first and then wipe out the soldiers. The second data post will be on the roof of a building on the left side of this street.
You'll come to a bridge. Careful! Up in the buildings on the other side is a pair of soldiers armed with rocket launchers and plasma rifles. You'll want to take them out before you advance as either one of them can take you down pretty easily. Advance down the bridge. A pair of VS's will advance with heavy weaponry. They'll have a few squads of infantry backing them up. Conventional weapons may take too much time to wear them down. Luckily, there are a bunch of VS weapons lying around the area near the last data post. The VS rifle in particular is useful to pick them off from a distance. Clear out the enemy units and then capture the last data post at the end of the bridge.
After the last data post is yours, you'll be told to kill all surviving defenders. This basically means kill everything in sight until the red bar at the bottom of the screen disappears. Just proceed through the area gunning down any enemies in your path. The enemy is just VS's and soldiers. The soldiers don't stand much chance, but most of the VS's carry heavy explosives of some sort and can knock you down pretty easily. Use any heavy or VS weapons you can find to kill them. Should you find an enemy spawn point, a door for instance, camp near it and just pick off the enemy soldiers as they appear. It's an easy way to wear the bar down. Do this and the mission and chapter will end.

CHAPTER 3

Mission One
You've captured the railway gun, but there's still more work to do. HQ needs you to capture some more data posts. Yippee, right? Oh well, best step to it. Take this as an opportunity to pick up some heavy weapons as you can as something big is coming, hint, hint. Don't miss the battle armor and stock up on rocket launchers. The three data posts are scattered across the map. Fight your way to each and activate them in turn.

Boss Battle: Akrid X
After capturing the data posts a Category G Akrid, named Akrid X shows up. The railway gun blows its head off, but that doesn't stop it in the slightest. When the battle begins, if you haven't accumulated a stockpile of heavy weapons do so now. Along the left side of the area are a collection of VS's, you may want to steal their weapons or hijack them for you purposes. After you've done this, keep your distance from Akrid X and shoot at its weak spots, namely where its head used to be. Its movements are a bit clumsy, but it can leap across the screen in a single bound. Its attacks are also very strong; its claw swipe can knock you halfway across the area while your wiping your health bar nearly clean. It also has access to some powerful and long range flame attacks that can cause you trouble. The key is just too keep moving and attack when you see an opening. Akrid X can take a beating, but just keep going and eventually he'll bite the dust.

EPISODE 3

CHAPTER 1
Boss Battle: Red Eye
Your train has been attacked by a Category G Akrid, aka, Red Eye. This battle is actually rather easy considering Red Eye's size and strength. Essentially, you just need to hold him off until your guys can finish loading all their explosive cargo into a bomb that Red Eye will then fatally devour. When the battle starts, head toward the rear of the train grabbing rocket launchers as you go. Red Eye will emerge from the sand and try to eat a train car. When he draws near enough, shoot a rocket into the orange part of his mouth. It's pretty large and hard to miss. If it connects he'll retreat back into the sand and try again. Keep this up until you receive a message telling you to head to your escape chopper. Then just run to the front of the drain and enjoy the ensuing cutscenes. This battle ends the mission.

CHAPTER 2
After your fight with Red Eye your chopper nears what looks like an abandoned settlement. When you get close you're shot down by sandraiders. As the mission begins, your task is simply to wipe them out. There will be a red bar at the bottom of the screen representing the sandraider's strength. When it runs out you'll complete the objective. As such, run around and slaughter anything and anyone that moves. Be careful, though. The sandraiders don't attack you head on, they like to hide in buildings and on rooftops and snipe you as you pass. Take your time and pick them off as they're trying to do to you.
Boss Battle: Debouse
After you kill the sandraiders, these two jerks will show up to give you a hard time. The key to Debouse is sound. They can't see well, so they frequently stand on their hind legs and listen. Stand perfectly still when they do this. You can reload your weapon and heal yourself, but if you try to shoot them or move you'll be hit with a stun attack and then mauled by one or both Debouse. Just wait them out and attack the vulnerable spots on their head and stomach. They can still attack you without listening but it's not as common and easier to avoid. Kill them both and the chapter will end.

CHAPTER 3
You're riding the train you snagged from the sandraiders in the last chapter when what should pull up alongside you? A train carrying one of the carpetbaggers rail guns! The carpetbaggers are none too happy to see you, so of course, a fight ensues. This mission isn't altogether too hard, it's more annoying. This is mainly because while the majority of the enemy forces are easy to bring down—infantry, attack choppers—the enemy train is also equipped at several points with quick firing rocket turrets. They're hard to distinguish from the rest of the train at first, and if you don't take them out they'll bombard you like mad, often knocking you off the train to an instant death. To defeat them, grab a rocket launcher from the sizable weapons cache inside the passenger car, hop on the roof and hit them from a distance. When they get up close they're much more dangerous, so destroying them at range is important. Besides this just shoot the enemy soldiers until this part of the mission ends.
A brief cutscene will trigger after which you'll be on the enemy train. You need to capture the train which of course, means capturing a bunch of data posts. There are three in total. One other thing to note is that the enemy has two trains running alongside one another. You can use your grappling hook to jump between the two at most any time. Work your way from the starting point toward the front of the train. Advance a bit and you'll note a VS located on the second train to your right. It's guarded by a few soldiers, but you may as well take it, unless you have something against increased mobility and firepower. Just be careful, the VS can have trouble jumping between trains. Shortly past the VS you'll find the first data post located on the second train.
After you've captured the first data post continue toward the front of the trains. You'll encounter increased resistance as you advance, including another rocket turret. Destroy it and proceed, killing any other soldiers you come across. If you've been advancing along the roofs of the train cars take a little time every now and then to drop into the actual cars themselves and clear out any soldiers hiding inside. This way if you die won't encounter them when you respawn and they can't hit you from behind as you advance. You'll find the second data post back on the first train, further up.
Continuing toward the next data post you'll encounter another rocket turret. Take it and press forward. You should come to an empty attack chopper on one of the cars on the first train. If you feel up for a little airborne domination board it and lay waste to the enemy soldiers. The last data post is in the passenger car just after the attack chopper. If you find yourself on the railway gun itself, you've gone too far. After you've done this another cutscene will trigger.

Boss Battle: Red Eye
Red Eye is back for more. This battle is more involved then your last encounter with this galoot. This is mostly because you're using the rail gun as your main weapon this time. First things first, Red Eye will consistently attack the train you're on. The blue health bar at the bottom of the screen represents your train's health. When it starts to get lower things will catch fire. To repair the train, seek out the coolant units located in its lower sections. They're near some data posts that you should also activate. Beyond this, the battle is mainly a lather-rinse-repeat process of loading the rail gun, aiming and shooting Red Eye. You'll find shells scattered about the rail gun. To load it, just pick one up and carry it to the loading section behind the gun itself. The gun can only hold three shells at a time. Then move up the gunner's seat. In your prior engagement, you wanted to aim for Red Eye's mouth. You can still hit him here now, but it's easier and more effective to shoot at the orange cores on his sides. Each core can be hit twice. Keep up this process until Red Eye's health is low. He should try to swallow the rail gun whole. At this point you'll want to shoot him in the mouth. That should put him down for good.

EPISODE 4

CHAPTER 1
Mission One

Your soldiers have been captured by the Carpetbaggers. It's time to escape. When the mission starts you'll be tasked with capturing all the local data posts. When you head out of your cell you'll trigger a security sensor's alarm. From your cell you can either to the left or the right. To the left is a set of battle armor, but also brings you into range of a set of defense turrets. To the right is a machine gun and some grenades, but also some soldiers. Follow either path to reach the first data post.
When you capture the data post you'll gain access to a descending flight of stairs. Take them down to the level below. You'll immediately meet heavy resistance in the way of soldiers and a bunch of turrets. Take some time to clear out the area and along the way you should find the next data post. Capture it.
There will be another descending staircase nearby. Take it down the next level. The enemy force down here has a couple VS's and you unfortunately don't have many heavy weapons to speak of. It may work better here just to stay up on the area above the ground floor and snipe as many enemies as you can from above. Lob some grenades down if you see an opportunity. When all the soldiers are dead, you should find a pit leading toward a locked door. Jump down, hack the door and finish the mission.

Mission Two
When the mission begins you'll find yourself in a sewer. Head straight head down the tunnel. Eventually you'll come to some Akrid. Kill them and continue to find a pit. At the bottom are some battle armor and a data post. Jump down to activate it. When you reach the bottom of the bit though, you'll encounter more Akrid, including some Defolma which will be a first up to this point. Alternatively, skirt around the pit and you'll find another tunnel that leads to deeper into the sewers. This area is absolutely infested with Akrid and though they are mostly just Sepia and Bolsepia, it can get a bit overwhelming. Kill everything that moves, putting priority on the Genessa spawn pods. Whichever way you choose, you'll inevitably reach the same the destination. At the end of the tunnel is the exit. Hack the gate controls and the mission will end.

Mission Three
When the third mission begins, you'll be tasked with penetrating the enemy defense grid. Advance into the area ahead and you'll meet a group of soldiers backed up by a pair of light VS's. Use the nearby rocket launcher to bring them down, and then pick off the soldiers. You should come to a bridge. It's guarded by a firing line of plasma turrets. Take your time in destroying them and keep out of their line of fire when possible. A single concentrated burst from all the turrets can easily kill you. Take out the sensor orbs on the catwalk above them to bring them down. After they're destroyed you should be able to capture the nearby data post. Keep your eyes out though, more soldiers may spawn and try to bushwhack you.
Advance forward and you'll come to another area that can be really difficult. It's guarded by three VS's two heavy, one light and a nice sized squad of infantry. The foot solders won't give you much trouble, but the VS's can make it hard to move out of cover. There is a garbage dumpster at the opening of this area. Hide behind it, popping out every now and then to get off a few shots—preferably with a rocket launcher—at the VS's. Heal when you need to and keep on the pressure until all three are destroyed. When that's done, clear out any remaining soldiers and hack.

CHAPTER 2
Mission One

When the mission begins you'll be instructed to activate some data posts in order. This basically just means advancing along and capturing any data posts you pass. When the mission begins head up the ramp onto the catwalks. You'll meet with enemy soldiers immediately and almost just as soon encounter the first data post. It will be on the floor below the catwalks you're currently moving on.
The next data post lays a level or so up, directly to the east of the first one. You'll have to climb a few stairs and maybe use your grappling hook to reach it. You'll of course, encounter a whole ton of resistance along the way, but it's mostly just infantry and nothing you can't handle.
After this, head south. You should exit a tunnel onto a platform with the third data post. Capture it. After this head back to the bottom level of the center of the area. The fourth data post will now be available to capture.
From the fourth data post head to the northwest, staying on the ground level. There doesn't seem to be any end to the enemy's numbers so just keep killing any that get in your path. After a short jog you should come to the fifth data post.
Heading directly east from the fifth data post you should come to a data post sitting behind some crates next to a wall. After this is activated a door should open up on the wall near the data post. Run through it to exit the mission.

Mission Two
Your mission is to commandeer an enemy sub. Head down the hallway. Eventually, you'll come to a corridor with boats passing through it. Fight off the immediate guards and capture the data post to your left. Continue through the area, gathering the numerous rocket launchers you'll come across along the way. You should come to a data post on your right. Capture and start using those rockets to take down the VS's you'll begin to encounter. Continue and you'll come to a sub with a data post. Capture it to get the sub moving. As the sub floats down the corridor, fight off the soldiers that attack you. When it exits into the open, the mission and chapter will end.

CHAPTER 3
When the mission starts you'll be tasked with capturing some data posts for intel. There are four in total. Head up the hill where you'll find a small installation. The first data post is inside an attached bunker. To get to it head to the installation's entrance around the north. There's an empty VS nearby you may wish to board for the fight up ahead.
Continue forward and you should arrive at a point defended by some exceptionally heavy VS's and manned turrets. There's a wrecked VS you can salvage a rocket launcher from. Use it to help bring them down. After you've cleared out the defenders, press forward and take the first data post. As you near it, you'll be ambushed by a trio of VS's. Take them all and capture the data post.
A few feet to the north of the second data post is a building. Scale the wall to find the third data post. Scale the wall next to the third data post to find the fourth. Capture them both. After all four data posts are captured, the enemy will launch a counterattack. Fight off each incoming wave until their battle gauge is depleted. This will end the mission.

Mission Two
Your objective is to activate all the local data posts. When the mission begins head down the slope. You should across a Tentacle 8 Akrid, which having been captured by NEVEC has been modified with mechanical enhancements to serve their needs. You'll note about its body several orange, fleshy spots. These are its vulnerable points. Bring the thing down. There should be an empty VS that you can use if you want. The first data post is nearby.
Continue and you should find a data post locked behind an energy barrier obstructing your progress. To the east is a control you can hack to dissipate it. Once the barrier is down, head back and capture the second data post.
Advance. You'll come to a defense post guarded some soldiers and some more modified Akrid. These guys go by the name of the Dongo gear and are basically just Dongo's with machine guns on their backs. A few rocket shells will bring them down. Once you've killed all the enemy units, you'll find the third data post just past their position.
Your advance will be blocked by another energy field. Luckily the controls are unguarded and right in your path. Hack it and be ready to take on another Tentacle 8. Now this guy is a pain. Whereas the first Tentacle 8 was a bit of a pushover this one is armed to the teeth and will knock you flat if you even try to get close to it. Use everything at hand to bring it down. Rockets, machine guns and the nearby VS's if you must. When Tentacle 8 is brought down you'll find the fourth data post in back of his position.
After Tentacle 8 is dead, you'll come to another energy barrier. The gate control is on the structure toward the rear of the area where you fought Tentacle 8. After the barrier is down, continue on. You should find the fifth data post almost immediately on your left next to a suit of battle armor. Equip the armor and capture the data post.
Directly ahead of the data post you'll come to an enemy structure. Scale its walls and engage the enemy inside. You'll receive new orders to disable the lightning station. At the top of the southern tower of the enemy structure is a control for the station. Hack it and the river below will drain. There will be a doorway ringed in red. Enter to end the mission.

CHAPTER 4

Mission One
When the mission begins, head down the hallway. There will be a few soldiers taking cover behind some barricades. Just pick them off and continue forward. When you reach the elevator at the end of the corridor a heavy VS will drop in. You won't have any heavy weapons on hand yet, so use grenades and riddle it with your machine gun until it goes down.
Climb the ladder next to the elevator. When you each the next level up you'll come to a data post. Capture it. A couple of heavy, maneuverable enemy VS's should drop in, one after the other. Take them down, along with any enemy soldiers you encounter. There are some empty VS's you can mount if you'd like. After the enemy is dead, head down into the water. When you're submerged you'll find another data post. Capture it and a new area will open up.
Head into the next area. There will be some underwater Akrid around, Jellon, Piranha and a few Defolma for good measure. Gun them all down and then press forward. After a short distance your path will again be blocked by a closed gate. Capture the nearby data post to open the way.
Your path will be blocked by a few more Jellon, and then you'll be come across a Dabula. Just stay on the cliff side avoiding its mouth, and shoot the orange spots on its back. After the Dabula is dead jump down to the ocean floor below and proceed forward. There's a bigger than usual supply container. Open it up to find a VS! Board it and press forward. You'll come across some ocean vents. Step onto one and it will propel you upward. You'll encounter another Dabula. Kill it in the same manner as the first.
You'll reach another sealed door. Capture the nearby data post to open it and continue. You'll see a big see craft. Don't bother shooting it, it will just jet away. After that though, a group of VS's will drop in. Destroy them all. There's one last closed gate up ahead. Capture the data post to open it and end the mission.

Mission Two
You're still in pursuit of that NEVEC secret weapon, which means another infiltration mission. When the mission begins you're ordered work your way across the facility. Head up the ramp from your starting point. You'll eventually move onto a platform and encounter some enemy soldiers. Kill them and continue. There's a VS toward the rear of the area you can take if you'd like.
Continue forward and you'll come to a large area with multiple data posts. You don't need to capture them but you may as well. You objective at this part is to get across a closed draw bridge to west. The problem is that the controls are on the other side. Head to the west. You'll encounter some enemy VS's. After you've brought them down, ascend to the second level and you'll find a vacant attack chopper. Mount it and use it to cross the bridge. Then land and hack the drawbridge controls to open the way. Careful! There are some rocket equipped turrets that can bring you down on trip over if you're not careful.
Head up the nearby ramp. There should be a lot of soldiers on the way, so take a bit of time to kill them. If the attack chopper is still in working condition, you might even use that. At the top of the ramp you'll come under fire from a large group of attack choppers. There are some VS rocket launchers nearby so you shouldn't have trouble bringing them down. After the coast is clear hack the nearby controls and board the lift to end the mission, and chapter.

CHAPTER 5

Mission One
When the mission begins you need to capture the local data posts. You can get started with the one right in front of you at the starting point. Once the data post is captured it will unlock two doors. The door to the right leads to a small room with a set of battle armor. Take it and then proceed to the left to advance the mission.
Follow the corridors, killing any soldiers you come across. This part of the level is very linear, just follow the green doors. You'll come to the second data post. Kill the guard and capture it. After it's active, head back the way you came and should come to some newly unlocked doorways. Explore them until you find the third data post, under the guard of a large squad of infantry. Capture it and proceed through the door on the other side of the room.
Continue through the unlocked doors. You'll come to a large door that will slide open to reveal an enemy VS backed by some soldiers. Kill them all and head down to the second level, where you'll encounter some Akrid. It's just Sepia and Genessa spawn pods, but eventually some Vodogg's join the fun. You'll head down the next level. Take some time to circle the hallway and clear out the Akrid. You should come to a door labeled 2-B. Inside is the data post. There are also tanks containing Vodoggs, so try not to shoot them open. Capture the data post.
Head back out into the hallway. Follow it and you'll find that doors 2-C and 2-D are now unlocked. Enter 2-C to find a suit of battle armor and four Vodogg tanks. They'll burst when you move forward. Kill them and take the armor. 2-D will take you down to the next level.
You should be attacked by some Dongo Gears. Taking them out can be a bit tough without heavy weapons. To the right you'll see a room labeled 3-B. Enter it find a VS and some containers, one with a rocket launcher. Use them to take out the Dongo Gears. This hall circles much like that on the second floor. You'll find a number of unlocked rooms. 3-C has two containers holding some disc grenades and battle armor. When you've taken what you want from the rooms, head into the hallway behind where the Dongo Gears were.
At the end of this hallway is a data post. Capture it, and then head back out into the circular hallway where a door should have opened to a lift. Another Dongo Gear will be guarding it, kill it and board the lift to end the mission.

Mission Two
The mission begins with you near some more water. Your objective is again to capture a command post to take control of the facility. Jump into the water and advance. You'll come to some battle armor. Take it and from this point keep jumping until you get down as far as you can go. After this, head west and the follow the ramps up to the first data post.
With this data post active your map will become more detailed. You don't need to take over the remaining data posts to finish the mission but it helps to power up your battle gauge. The command post that is your objective lies on a platform below and to the northeast of the data post you just took. Capture it.
Boss Battle: Vital Fortress
Capture the command post and you'll be given orders toe evacuate on a shuttle. Before that can happen though, the enemy will launch its secret weapon, the Vital Fortress, against you. While the Vital Fortress is no pushover by any stretch of the word, it isn't nearly as challenging as some of the Akrid you've fought up to this point. It has a lot of firepower and can hit large areas at once, but the area that you're fighting in has a lot of cover to take advantage of. There's also a lot of heavy weaponry at your disposal here, though you don't really need it. Just target the target lasers at the front of the Vital Fortress and with enough time, even your standard machine gun can bring it down. This will end the mission, chapter and episode.

EPISODE 5

CHAPTER 1
Mission One
Your mission is to capture an enemy battleship. To do this you need to get inside. When the mission starts you're riding a small hovercraft. Advance toward the battleship, taking a moment to get yourself used to the controls of your hovercraft. You'll be attacked by some attack choppers. Use the rocket launcher you started the mission with to bring them down. Be careful, if you get hit by any large debris it will knock you off your craft and kill you. When you get close to the battleship, you'll come under fire from a bunch of turrets. Take a bit of time to clear them away before boarding the ship.
When you've cleared away the enemy turrets raise your hovercraft off the ground and land on one of the walkways. There's one on both the left and right. Capture the data post near your landing point and open up the nearby containers to pick up some ammo. After that, head inside the battleship and take on the enemy forces within. You'll be resisted mostly by enemy VS's and infantry, with a turret or two for good measure. When the area is clear, open the nearby containers for supplies. Once you've done that hack the controls toward the back of the room to open the rear hatch. This will end the mission.

Mission Two
You objective is to capture all the control posts within the battleship to take it over. From the starting point head up the ramp, opening any nearby containers should you need supplies. Take the doorway to your left and follow the connecting corridor. They'll lead to a flight of stairs. Head into the room to the right of the stairs to find a data post. Capture it.
Once you've done that your map will be active. Control post 2 is on one of the floor above you. Head up the flight of stairs you previously ignored. You'll come to a room. Kill the defending soldiers. You should see another flight of stairs. Follow them up the command post. A squad of enemy soldiers is defending it. Kill them and capture the post.
From here, head south to find the second command post. After you've captured both you'll need to hold them for ninety seconds. The enemy will try to retake them. If you lose a post the timer will pause until both are under your control again. Just recapture them until the counter finishes. This will end the mission and chapter.

CHAPTER 2
Mission One
Your objective here is to slaughter the remaining enemy troops. Their battle gauge will appear at the bottom of the screen. Advance forward and start slaughtering the enemy soldiers. Some attack choppers will start to stream in. You take up residence in one of the nearby turrets to shoot them down. Before that, capture the command post toward the rear of the ship. This part is pretty simple, just kill everything that moves.
After a time the enemy will deploy troop carriers to try and drop some soldiers onto the battleship. There objective is to open the rear hatch of the battleship. If any make it aboard make it your priority to kill them. Should they successfully hack both controls the mission will end in failure. Recapture the controls if they take them. Beyond that, just keep killing until the enemy's battle gauge is depleted. Doing so will end the mission.

Mission Two
With the battleship under your control you'll gain access to its main, extremely powerful cannon. It runs off of thermal energy however, which means you'll need to supply it yourself. Luckily when the mission begins there are two thermal chargers nearby and available. After a time, a swarm of Trilids will attack. Stay near the thermal chargers and shoot them down from a distance. Keep this up and after a short time the ground will begin to shake. Cat G time!

Boss Battle: Balztencale
As far as bosses go Balztencale is not that difficult. With your charged up supply of thermal energy take control of the battleship's main cannon. Charge up a shot and pick your target. It has many weak points across its body, but the easiest place to hit it is generally at its leg joints or in the face. It has a few attacks, but its main one is to drop Bolsepia on you. These will barely even affect you when you're seated in the cannon. When its health gets low, Balztencale will get up close and try to hurt you. This is actually a great chance to finish it off. Its attacks in this state aren't too grievous and its face will be literally right in front of the cannon. Roast it and collect the goodies it drops as it keels over. This will end the mission and chapter.

CHAPTER 3
The enemy is sending another battleship to take you on. It has a cannon identical to your own which, when it nears, becomes your initial main target. You'll need some thermal energy for your own cannon. Luckily there's another thermal charger near the cannon. Take a moment to charge it up and then board your cannon.
Charge up and target the enemy cannon. Don't fire just yet. Wait until it opens up to fire and the shoot. A single good, concentrated blast should be more then enough to put it out of commission. After that blast the rest of the ships defenses into oblivion. After that target the ship's "wings." These are the large vertical plates jutting out from the side of the ship. If you take too long, the enemy's cannon will be repaired. Just destroy it the same way again.
After the wings are destroyed, you'll be ordered to take over the second battleship. The two battleships will near one another allowing you to jump to the enemy ship. To capture the ship head to lower cargo hold and take over the ship's command post. Kill any soldiers you come across. After you capture the enemy command post, you need to hold it for one minute. When you take the ship over, the enemy will activate a self destruct sequence. You have ninety seconds before it foes boom. Escape. The mission, chapter, and episode will.

EPISODE 6

CHAPTER 1
Mission One

Your goal here is to take over an enemy shuttle. From the starting point head down the hall in front of you. You'll encounter some armored soldiers and a few minor Akrid. Shortly into the firefight an enemy soldier will open the cargo bay and vent you into space. Use your jets to fly back to the shuttle. When you get back inside the shuttle, push the button to seal the cargo bay. This will end the mission.

Mission Two
Your objective is to head to the cannon engineering room. When the mission begins turn around. Behind the starting point you'll find a data post down a short flight of stairs. Capture it and then continue forward into the mission. You may note the gravity is lower here. This basically means everything is a bit floatier and you can jump further. Continue dead ahead and you'll come to another data post guarded by some turrets. Destroy them and capture it. From there head up the ramps, fighting off the enemy soldiers VS's you encounter.
At the top of the ramp you should come to a data post on your right and a huge gap. Thanks to the decreased gravity you can jump the majority of the distance and then use your jets to finish the gap. On the other side you'll encounter more enemy units, including a large number of heavily armed VS's. Take them all out as you go. You should come across another data post. Capture it and continue.
Heading northwest from the last data post, you should under fire from another group of enemy VS's. Destroy them and continue up the wide ascending corridor. There will be a couple rocket turrets along the way. Take them out. The corridor will hang a left and lead you to the area's exit. This will end the mission and the chapter.

CHAPTER 2
Your objective here is to activate all the local data posts. There are five in total. From the mission's start point you'll come to a ledge. Jump in and you'll fall for a ways to the area below. Continue forward; there will be a wrecked VS on your left. You can take its weaponry if you want. Press forward. You'll come to a circular area and a thermal charger.
In the center you'll find a descending pit with a lot of platforms. This area is ringed by an ascending pathway. First, head down into the pit area. You should find a data post. Activate it and then head back up and use your now active map to find the remaining data posts. They are all on different levels and can seem a bit difficult to find at first. That said, they're all basically out in the open and as long as you explore each level thoroughly you'll find them. Just keep moving upwards. After the last post is yours, you'll be instructed to head to the control booth on the top level. This won't take long, as the top level is right above the last data post. When you reach the control booth you'll leave the area and trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene you'll be in a VS hangar. You need to protect some VS's to use in escaping the station. Of course, the enemy sends in their own motley of VS's to try and muck things up. Just destroy any enemy forces that attack you. Eventually a massive, super heavy VS will drop in. Destroy it with heavy weapons and the chapter will end.

CHAPTER 3
Mission One

You're riding the VS's you saved down to the planets surface. This mission is so easy you could literally walk away from the controls, make a sandwich, eat it and probably come to find you'd won any ways. You'll advance automatically through space. Eventually you'll pass through a minefield. Shoot down any mines that get close to you. This will eventually become an asteroid field. Same deal. If the asteroids get too close destroy them. When you start to pass through the atmosphere, you've won.

Mission Two
When this mission begins, advance forward. You'll quickly come to a data post. Capture it and press on through the snow toward the objective marker on your radar. Gather weapons you come across while destroying any Akrid you encounter; Dongos and a couple of Chryatis. You can make an effort to kill all the Akrid, but it's perfectly possible to just run straight to the goal.
You'll enter a new area in a bunker packed with weapons and equipped with a thermal charger. The Akrid will begin attacking shortly after the mission begins. Before that, run out and activate the one data post in the area. Then return to the bunker and prepare for the attack. There are a couple turrets you can mount. Their firepower is nice, but their use is honestly a bit limited as you'll want to be able to move around to engage the various Akrid that come at you. The Akrid will initially attack in weak waves of Sepia and Bolsepia, but eventually you'll be fighting off Dongos and Chryatis as well. After going through this for awhile you'll be told to proceed to the Over G Akrid staging area. Follow the objective marker.

Boss Battle: Undeep
The Undeep isn't really that hard. Most of its attacks are easy to avoid as long as you keep moving. That said, it does have the annoying quality of possessing hard to hit weak points. You wouldn't think they'd be difficult to hit. The cores lining its sides are all pretty big, and the one inside its mouth is huge. That said, its constant movement and wiggling makes it difficult to get in an accurate shot, especially with the heavy weapons needed to efficiently destroy it. Your best bet is to just go for its sides and keep trying until the beast goes down. After killing the Undeep, follow your objective marker to mission's exit.

CHAPTER 4
Your goal here is simply to fight your way to the Over G's core. You'll go through a number of areas to do this. When the mission starts just advance forward. You'll notice some large Genessa lining the rock walls. Take them down as you go. This is a bit easier said than done though, as the area is infested with Chryatis. Kill everything, capturing any data posts you pass to help build your battle gauge. When the area is clear of enemies, gather some weapons before you move to the next. A cutscene will trigger.
After the cutscene ends, move forward into the next area. There, you'll notice a red battle gauge at the bottom of the screen. You need to empty this. You'll also notice a number of Over G spheres. These are similar in look and size to Genessa, but they attack you with small projectiles. Attack these to deplete the battle gauge. You'll also want to capture the data posts in the area to boost your battle gauge some more. After all this is done, proceed to the exit marked as your objective.
In the next area you'll come across an Akrid breeding ground. Head into the area destroying any Genessa spawning pods you come across. You'll encounter a variety of Akrid, including a new variety, the Raibee. Now, you can take your time and wipe out everything in the area, or you can just head straight through the area and exit. It's up to you.
After a brief episode in which you use the cannon of the battleship you previously captured you'll enter the next area. You'll instantly be attacked by a group of three our four Chryatis. Take them all out and then target the Genessa pods spawning them. Continue forward, taking down all the Genessa you encounter. You'll come across a few data posts as well. Capture them as you go. You'll shortly come to the exit.
Advance forward and you'll come across several Over G spheres. Destroy them and head on down into the lava below. You should know by now that it isn't going to harm you. Take your time here to capture data posts, clear away any Akrid and to gather weaponry. Otherwise just press forward, making your way to the exit.
This is the last area prior to the Over G core, take some time to capture the nearby data post and gather some weapons. After that you'll have come under attack by some more aggressive than usual Over G spheres. These more lethal versions spew out powerful fireballs and attack in groups of two or three, where the others were generally encountered solo. Destroy them all. When the final Over G sphere is gone, an exit will be revealed leading to the Over G Core.

Boss Battle: Over G Core
When you begin you'll be given orders to deploy GPS units to allow the orbital laser you captured earlier to fire on it. Follow the path up to the Core. The core will emerge as three massive tentacles with a sphere on the end of each one. Choose one of the three and focus your fire on the sphere. It can take a lot of damage, but over time it will begin to blacken. When it's fully blackened the sphere will drop to the ground. Run up to it and attach a GPS unit and then back off. Your allies will hit with the orbital laser, destroying it. This doesn't end the battle. The Core will briefly revive itself. Fight it a bit longer and a cutscene will trigger, ending the battle and the game. Congrats!
